International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers

image Three local unions of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers that represent more than 7,500 of Hawaii’s working men and women has endorsed Neil
Abercrombie
for Governor.

IBEW Locals 1186, 1260, and 1357 made the unified endorsement. The three locals represent electricians, utility workers, power plant workers, technicians, telephone
workers and television camera people working in Hawaii.

“Neil Abercrombie has a proven record of supporting causes that benefits Hawaii’s working families,” said Lance Miyake, IBEW Local 1260 Business Manager and Financial Secretary. “Neil is committed to restoring the state’s economy and creating more jobs for the people of Hawaii.”

“Over the years of serving Hawaii, Neil Abercrombie has shown he has the leadership, experience and commitment the people of Hawaii needs in their next Governor,” said Damien Kim, Business Manager and Financial Secretary of IBEW Local 1186. “We look forward to doing everything we can to elect him as our next governor to build a brighter future for all of us in Hawaii.”

“We continue our support to elect Neil Abercrombie as our next governor,” said Scot Long, Business Manager and Financial Secretary of Local 1357, which had endorsed Abercrombie last year. “We believe in Neil’s leadership to restore the trust that many of us have lost in our government.”

image I am from Kaimuki, Oahu. I am Currently a Realtor with Coldwell Banker. I worked in the Film Industry as a technician and as the Business Representative and I also served 10 years in the US Marines. What I care about is Justice for Fathers in the Family Court System, An overhaul of Child support Guidelines, Hawaiian Native issues and ways to think outside the box to create revenue for the State of Hawaii.

I support Neil's Campaign because when I was the Business Agent for the IATSE Local 665, we had an issue with getting film through the exray machines at the airport for Japanese productions companies. One phone call to Neil and he got all the powers that be to get the job done and save our Japanese commercial industry from a complete breakdown. He's a person that's there for me, and I want to be there for him. I also feel that I need to get involved with government to effect change that I want to see for the rest of my constituents...

Angel Pilago

Former Kona County Councilman Angel Pilago gave Neil an impromptu, heartfelt endorsement at a community gathering at the Old Kona Airport. Angel called Neil “our new navigator” to guide the state into a better Hawaii. Read and see the whole story on the Big Island Video News.

Sean Lester

image Aloha, my name is Sean Lester and I am a 21 year resident of Kula, Maui. I worked hard on the Obama campaign and know that Neil was one of the first people to ask Barack to run for the presidency. In these uncertain times I believe a connection with the president is imperative, and he’s the only one that can offer this. Neil also has direct personal contacts with other lawmakers in the nation’s capital. Besides these points, he honestly understands the urgent need for our islands to be self sustaining. I was very impressed with his ability to listen and be honest in his interactions when I met him here on his last trip. I believe his decades of work experience along with his openness to listen will help us have a real chance of turning our economy around. We have to get this one right. That’s the reason I back Neil Abercrombie for Governor and really hope you take the chance to listen to what he has to say.

image I have lived in Hawaii 21 years, and am retired from the Federal Government, and currently have my own business as a Labor Arbitrator. While I was with the Federal Government I knew of Neil's commitment to helping people who were dealing with the Immigration Service, the Agency I dealt with. His office was very professional in helping those who needed to cut through the red tape. I care about our islands moving forward, not backward the way they have been going. We can't afford to be left behind.
I support Neil for a number of reasons. Number one, he was not only there for those needing help from INS, he was always there for us and helping to protect us as Federal Employees, a cause near and dear to my heart. I was humbled and very privileged when Neil took some time out of his very busy schedule to make an appearance at my retirement party. I figure if he can find time for a little guy like me, he really, really cares. I like his ideas and will do what I can do to help to move him from Washington, D.C. to Washington Place!

image I work with a non-profit agency, Gregory House Programs. We provide shelter and financial assistance to persons living with HIV/AIDS who would otherwise be homeless without our help. We do this through rent subsidies, emergency assistance, transitional housing and more.
Neil Abercrombie is an advocate for the disadvantaged. I wish to volunteer to make his campaign a success, as he is a person who applies his compassion and empathy toward people in need through his actions and advocacy.
